Water-based coatings use water as the carrier instead of organic solvents. They have 70-90% lower VOC content, no flammability hazard, low odor, and comply with EU REACH, US EPA, and China GB 30981 standards. Performance is comparable to solvent-based after full cure.
Most XGE products are < 50 g/L VOC, well below EU directive limits. Higher solids primers (XGE-HY-D, XGE-HY) may be 60-80 g/L. All below the 150 g/L industrial coating threshold.
Surface dry: 30 min for XGE-920 primer. Hard dry: 4 hours at 25°C / 50% RH. Full cure: 7 days. Higher temperature / lower humidity = faster drying.
Optimal: 15-30°C, <80% RH. We have low-temperature formulations (XGE-922) for application at 5-15°C.
Primer-only: 240-500h. Primer + topcoat system: 1000-2000h. Fluorocarbon system (XGE-HY-D + XGE-HY + XGE-930): 3000-5000h, 20-year design life.
